The biggest fighting game competition in the world, Evo 2014, took place in Las Vegas this past weekend. It's an event I've followed closely since the fighting game genre made a comeback with last gen's Steet Fighter IV and after years of sitting back and watching the event via streams, I finally made the trek to Vegas to experience the event first hand and boy was it worth the trip.
For the uninitiated, Evo (short for Evolution) holds double elimination tournaments featuring the most popular contemporary fighters. This year's event featured games such as BlazBlue, Killer Instinct, King of Fighter XIII, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom and the game that sparked a revolution, Ultra Street Fighter IV.
