The Week in Stuff: August 25 - 31, 2014

I won't be out and about much in so Cal this week due to 9-5 obligations but that shouldn't stop you from checking out the goings on in and around the southland. Here's what we're looking forward to this week:

Shows (LA/OC/SD):

8/25/14 - Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden are set to bring their current co-headlining tour to the Hollywood Bowl with Cold Cave serving as openers.

8/26/14 - Telepathe plays the Sunset Boulevard's Lot 1 Cafe on Tuesday night. I caught this duo opening for Austra last year and was impressed. If past shows are any indication this show will definitely be worth your time.

8/28/14 - Ty Segall brings his brand of lo-fi rock to The Echoplex on Thursday night for the first of four consecutive dates at the venue.

Music:

8/26/14 - Robyn Hitchcock returns with a new take on the covers album in "The Man Upstairs." Including popular favorites from The Psychedelic Furs ("The Ghost in You"), The Doors ("The Crystal Ship") along with a few original songs rounding out the set.

Gaming:

8/26/14 - inFamous: First Light is the first post-launch, standalone DLC for the PS4 title that was released earlier this year. Set before the events of inFamous: Second Son, the game shines the spotlight on that game's secondary character Fetch and promises the same super-powered gameplay that's been the hallmark of the inFamous series.
