The Week In Stuff: "I'm So Hungry I Could Eat at Arby's"

Back in Cali and coming down after the thrilling high that was last Saturday night's Before the Dawn performance, we're looking forward to some great shows and new music dropping this week in and around LA/OC/SD and once again eating food that's actually somewhat kinda palatable (aside from Maltesers, which are and have always been ace).

Shows

9/10 - Seattle indie pop/rock band Barcelona makes a stop at Santa Ana's Constellation Room along with Young Wild and Verre.

9/11 - Comedian John Hodgman brings his acerbic wit to Largo at the Coronet this Thursday night. The Hodg-man never disappoints and this is sure to be another fun night for stand up aficionados.

9/11 - Celluloid Annoyed faves Summer Twins are set to play the Echoplex Thursday night along with Death Valley Girls, Tele Novella, Cobalt Cranes and Buttertones.

9/12 & 9/13 - The alluringly hypnotic Slow Magic brings the beats to the southland with two back-to-back shows at LA's The Roxy Theater on Friday night and then it's a short ride down to San Diego's Soda Bar on Saturday night. Not to be missed for fans of dance, trance and (dare I say) performance art.

9/13 - Local heroes The Aquadolls are set to play The Smell this Saturday night. They packed the joint to sell out capacity last time they played the (literal) hole-in-the-wall venue, be sure to get there early if you want in!

New Music

Ryan Adams, Robert Plant and Tennis both have new releases this week, talk on all three is pretty high and we can't wait to dive into 'em. Oh yeah, and they re-released The Beatles back catalog once again (this time on glorious mono on 180 gram vinyl).
